Welcome to Suburban EMS Online!
Suburban Fire and Rescue Company received its' charter on June 5, 1953.  It's purpose was to "Serve the Community with Emergency First Aid and Ambulance Service" on a volunteer basis 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Our coverage area included Palmer Township, Wilson Borough and West Easton.

Suburban EMSThe original headquarters was located in the Palmer Township Fire Station # 2 at 25th and Dearborn Streets.  In 1955, Suburban purchased a parcel of land at 3231 Freemansburg Avenue.  They tore down the old barn and remodeled the wagon shed to house two Ambulances and a Meeting Room.  In 1957 Suburban began construction on a permanent headquarters on that same site, which was completed in 1958.  This is where it stands today.

Our first ambulanceLater the word Fire was stricken from the Organization's title.  Suburban Rescue Company wanted to devote all of their time to First Aid and Rescue in serving the community.  The new headquarters building of the Squad was dedicated in a formal Ceremony on June 14, 1958.  By 1976, with the help of the public and the Palmer Township and Wilson Borough Lions Clubs, the Squads rolling equipment stock had grown to 5 fully equipped ambulances, a rescue truck and state-of-the-art 2-way radios.

In early 1993, Suburban Rescue Company incorporated as a non-profit and was renamed Suburban Emergency Medical Services, Inc.  Over the years, Suburban EMS has continued to grow.  With 2 Stations in Palmer Township and Stroudsburg, we continue "Serve the Community with Emergency First Aid and Ambulance Service" in Northampton and Monroe Counties.
