Suburban EMS re-opened the doors to the current billing department on September 1st 2006, housed in the station on Freemansburg Avenue after three years of outsourcing.   Our billing department is compiled of five billing specialists and a Billing Manger for a combined total of 40 years of experience in medical billing.  This local staff assists with the billing and reimbursement of fees involved with pre-hospital emergency or non-emergency medical services.  Patients and families can call or stop by to assure that this area of their care will be handled with professionalism and understanding.

Our billing specialists attend the Annual Reimbursement Conference hosted by the Ambulance Association of Pennsylvania to remain up-to-date with the latest rules and regulations of Medicare, Medicaid and Insurance reimbursement.  Our consultant provides annual audits of the daily production of claims in our office and also provides in-house training to our staff, contracted nursing facilities and hospitals.  The billing department also reviews the transport schedule in advance to determine potential billing issues and address them with staff and family members before the transport is made.
